Flying High

Friday already! How did that happen? This week has sped by in such a whirl. We’re loving our new day-jobs – liaising with authors, seeing all the exciting submissions come flooding in and generally getting Skylark off the ground. We’ve been so lucky to have so much enthusiasm from everyone – editors, authors and fellow agents alike – so a big THANK YOU to you all. You’ve made our first week feel like a huge success; would it be wrong for us to have another celebration already? :-)

We’re having so much fun here at Skylark Towers (not quite the right word for skylarks?) that we actually don’t want it to be the end of the week! Happily, work doesn’t stop with the arrival of the weekend. We still have lots and lots of lovely reading to do and we hope to be able to share news of the something we mentioned in our last post with our subscribers this weekend (if you want to sign-up you can do so here), ahead of the big announcement next week.

So we’ll be busy getting ready to start Week 2 with a bang! Lovely weekends to all. See you on the other side . . .

Skylark takes flight . . .

Hooray! It’s finally Monday 17th November and our first day as Skylark Literary! Well, first official day – we’ve been preparing for so long it seems like we’ve been together forever. We have been inundated by gorgeous well wishes from so many lovely people. Thank you for your support.

We celebrated on Friday evening by heading out for dinner with our Finance Department (Jo’s husband) and the IT department (Amber’s husband) and some friends who have helped us with invaluable set-up advice. Lots of conversation about our hopes and plans.

So, back to today and it’s time to get down to business. We have so much to do – preparing a press release for our exciting new something which we can’t talk about just yet but will fill you in on very soon, last tweaks to the website and organizing our submissions.

Thanks once again to all of you who have been so supportive. We are thrilled about Skylark but it’s even more special when other people are too!
